Changing Executive Compensation, Widening the Lens and Focusing on Directors.

Description: Fourth year evening student Tiffany Rowe offered new ideas for determining the compensation of top executives. She proposed, for example, compensating the members of the boards of directors that often determine a CEO’s pay package with stock options instead of a flat salary, giving them same stake in the CEO’s performance that other stockholders have. Rowe’s remarks were part of a Student Scholar Series initiated at CUA Law in 2009 to recognize notable legal scholarship produced by members of the student body during the academic year, and also to foster the skills associated with presenting and defending that scholarship in professional conference-style setting.
